Series 2 of record group 84-48 consists of material relating to timber resource harvests in Michigan for the years 1937-57. Contains index cards, correspondence, reports and records of permits issued. The index cards are for Michigan's major private and business timber landowners, providing data on acreage owned, forest management practices, the name of company officials and foresters, other corporate data, some comments on policy, and general remarks (covering the years 1942-47). Also includes information and photographs of the forestry activities on the Ford Motor Company's Upper Peninsula land holdings; material on logging camps; and other material relating to permits.
